4-Hit Day for Whiting Leads WFBA Past East Hill Christian

Allie Whiting had a busy day at the plate on Monday, smacking four hits in WFBA's 18-8 victory over East Hill Christian. Whiting singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the third, and doubled in the fifth.

Bats blistered as WFBA collected 14 hits and East Hill Christian tallied six in the high-scoring game. WFBA got things started in the first inning. Shelby Ward singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. WFBA tallied six runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by WFBA was led by Whiting, Ayanna Kelker, Addison Johnson, Mackenzie Tucker, Stella Moore, and Whiting, who each had RBIs in the inning.

East Hill Christian scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for East Hill Christian came thanks to a single by Breanna Sheffield, a groundout by Anna Cate Friday, and an error on a ball put in play by Sarah Dickens.

Whiting pitched WFBA to victory. Whiting allowed two hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Claire Croley threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Lindsay Thomas took the loss for East Hill Christian. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing 14 hits and 18 runs while striking out three.

WFBA scattered 14 hits in the game. Whiting, Makenzie Prouse, Ward, and Kelker each racked up multiple hits for WFBA. Whiting went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead WFBA in hits. Whiting led WFBA with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

Sheffield led East Hill Christian with two hits in three at bats.
