Lady Conquerors Grab Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Aletheia Christian Academy

WFBA took the lead late in the game in a 17-13 victory over Aletheia Christian Academy on Monday. The game was tied at 11 with our Conquerors batting in the bottom of the fifth when Makenzie Prouse singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

WFBA earned the victory despite allowing Aletheia Christian Academy to score seven runs in the fifth inning. Aletheia's big inning was driven by doubles by Ashlyn Hines and Lana Davis and an error on a ball put in play by Chloe Skaggs.

Allie Whiting led the Conquerors to victory on the rubber. The southpaw went six innings and struck out nine. Claire Croley threw the last inning in relief out of the bullpen to earn the save. Skaggs took the loss. The hurler allowed ten hits and 17 runs over six innings, striking out one. West Florida had ten hits in the game. Whiting, Ayanna Kelker, and Shelby Ward all managed multiple hits. Ward, Kelker, and Whiting each collected two hits.

Aletheia scattered nine hits in the game. Hines, Riley Glazier, and Skaggs each collected multiple hits.
