Lady Conquerors Compete at NACA

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lady Conqueror basketball and our 5th consecutive Panhandle Christian Conference championship, our Ladies traveled to the National Association of Christian Athletes tournament in Dayton, TN. Cheering them on were parents, siblings, an Internet following, and three members of our 2011 inaugural team: Head Coach Linda Bacon and players Courtney and Lindsay Whiting.

WFBA competed in Division 5 and came out strong versus eventual 3rd place Mount Pisgah Christian Academy (Oliver Springs, TN) but was not able keep pace in a 36-54 loss. On day 2 after trailing by 12 to Collegedale (TN), WFBA pulled ahead late in the 4th but could not hold onto the lead in a tough 50-55 loss. Our Lady Conquerors rebounded in the last game versus Master’s Hand Christian for a hard fought 61-53 victory. It was our 4th largest points scored in 2021. Senior Janelle Riley was named to the D5 all-tournament team. The team finished the season 25-6.

After congratulating seniors Emory McDaniel, Kyleigh Morris, Janelle Riley, and Allie Whiting at the post-game meeting with players and parents, current Head Coach Darrin Johnson acknowledged the sacrifice of our inaugural team and challenged the returning players to keep raising the bar higher.
