Kelker Strong at the Plate as Conquerors Defeat Lighthouse Private Christian Academy

Ayanna Kelker was in the zone on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading the West Florida Baptist Academy Lady Conquerors to a 26-4 win over Lighthouse Private Christian Academy. Kelker doubled in the first, singled in the first, homered in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy scored three runs in the fourth inning, led by Rozier, Dubose, and Lile, who all drove in runs .

WFBA got on the board early when their lead-off hitter, Allie Whiting, started the season off with a solo homer. The Conquerors put up 11 runs in the fourth inning with Kelker, Alyssa Johnson, Makenzie Prouse, Emily Higgins, Mackenzie Tucker, and Katlyn Stout each driving in runs during the inning.

Whiting got the start for Conquerors. She surrendered one unearned run on one hit over two innings, striking out six and walking zero. Kelker pitched the final two inning for WFBA, giving up three runs on no hits with three strike outs.

Duboose was on the rubber for Lighthouse. She went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 18 runs on 13 hits. Martin threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.

The Lady Conquerors totaled 16 hits. Kelker, Stout, Whiting, Tucker, and Prouse each collected multiple hits for Conquerors. Kelker went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Conquerors in hits. Bortek led Lighthouse Private Christian Academy with one hit in three at bats.
