WFBA Dress Code—NEW 2018

Guiding Principles

The Biblical principles of Christlikeness, purity, modesty, obedience and respect are the standards applied. As Christians, our goal is to glorify the Lord in everything and to be an example to those around us.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

It is the responsibility of the students and their parents to understand and adhere to the WFBA dress code. Please take the time to check over your child’s attire before leaving the house in the morning. In all circumstances, we retain the final authority to determine, in its discretion, whether a student is in compliance with the dress code. The administration reserves the right at any time to amend the dress code as needed to address new trends or styles.

An article of clothing that fits at the beginning of the year may not necessarily still fit as the year progresses. Children often outgrow their clothing in the middle of the year. Parents, please pay close attention to this. Also, not all articles of clothing are true to size. A child may be a size small in one shirt, but require a medium in another style shirt. Please have your child try on clothing BEFORE you purchase it. All articles worn to school or worn for Conqueror Day Dress Code must abide by WFBA dress code standards entirely, not partially.

Please read the dress codes carefully. All students are required to adhere to these guidelines. Any student not abiding by these guidelines will receive infraction offenses.

If a dress code infraction pertains to modesty, the student will be required to change their attire or have a parent bring the appropriate clothing to the school. We do not want to interrupt your day, so please check your child’s attire closely before bringing or sending them to school.

No cross-gender dressing is permitted for any WFBA dress codes or special dress-up days.

Students that are in improper dress code will be required to remain in the school office until dressed appropriately. Any absences from class because of dress code violations will be considered unexcused absences and the student will receive zeros for the amount of time out of class.

Each infraction will be handled as a disciplinary matter and formally documented. Repeated infractions will be considered as defiance. The infractions will be dealt with in the following ways:

  1. First Offense – A warning will be given to the student and a letter will be sent home requiring a parent’s signature.
  2. Second Offense – The student will receive after school detention and a letter will be sent home requiring a parent’s signature.
  3. Third Offense – The parents will be called to the school for a meeting. The student will be suspended from extracurricular activities. This will also include suspension from sports.

Conqueror Day Dress Code

This Dress Code is reserved for sporting events and specific days under the direction of the Principal.  This dress code is only in effect when Conqueror Day Dress Code is announced.  This applies to all students in grades K3-12.

Girls

A Conqueror t-shirt, purchased through the school, must be worn when wearing Conqueror Day Dress Code. Loose fitting jeans, pants or shorts may be worn. No leggings, skinny jeans or yoga pants may be worn. Shorts must come to the top of the knee when sitting or standing. No holes or frays are allowed anywhere on the pants or jeans. Athletic shoes are to be worn. The shirt must be loose, and not tucked in.  Conqueror Day Dress Code is allowed for WFBA sports games.  Athletic pants are not acceptable for the classroom when wearing Conqueror Day Dress Code.  Conqueror Day Dress Code is only allowed during the school day when approved by the Principal.  If you chose not to wear Conqueror Day Dress Code for these designated days, you must abide by the normal dress code.  If you are staying for a game on campus, you must complete all school activities (detention, help, etc.) before changing for the game.

Athletic shoes are to be worn. No holes or frays are allowed anywhere on the jeans or shorts. The shirt is not to be tucked in. Conqueror Day Dress Code is allowed for WFBA sports games. Additions to Conqueror Day Dress Code:

Students must leave campus in regular school day dress code. You may only change on campus if you are attending an after school sporting event on campus and you have completed all your after school activities.

Girls may wear loose fitting jeans, pants, or shorts (to the top of the knee) to WFBA games.  No leggings, skinny jeans, or yoga pants may be worn to WFBA games.  Boys may wear athletic pants, jeans, or shorts (to the knee) to all WFBA games.

We are asking the parents to pay close attention to their child’s attire. Children do grow, and an article of clothing that fit your child at the beginning of the year, may not fit later that same year.

If a student arrives back on campus for an evening game, they are expected to abide by the guidelines above. These rules are in effect for both on campus and off campus games where WFBA is participating.

Teams are to travel to the game and home from the game in their team uniforms.
